All over the country, classroom, workplaces, and communities are recognizing the contributions of nuclear science. This space is dedicated to their efforts. Thanks for sharing why National Nuclear Science Week is important to you!

Open doors

Another thing National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) is doing to celebrate this week is opening our doors to the Community Resource Volunteers, a group that brings young students from rural areas to science events around the state.

On Saturday, we’ll host several dozen of those students from the Ovid-Elsie area for a day of learning about nuclear research, nuclear astrophysics, and the path to a nuclear science degree. Of course, we’ll have plenty of hands-on activities and time for demonstrations with liquid nitrogen and superconductivity!
